Our aim is to provide environmentally sustainable and low impact outdoor experiences which inspire, challenge and motivate people. We deliver the activities personally, with a small team of skilled and cheerful instructors each of whom has various specialist areas as well as an excellent overall knowledge of the outdoors. We primarily use our own venue, but also use larger conferencing and farmland facilities nearby, as well as having access from our base to the footpaths and open land of the area. All our activities are based in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we love it here and think you will too. Here are a few members of our team:

Adrian specialises in wild food and natural history, and leads all our corporate events with fantastic clients as diverse as Yeo Valley Organic, Clarks and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Adrian develops all our outdoor events to make sure that our groups have a great time. In addition to group events Adrian runs seasonal wild food forays.

SEAN MULHALL - THE SILVER FOX - BUSHCRAFT, ARCHERY, WILD FOOD

Sean (The Silver Fox) has worked with us for several years and is our chief bush craft instructor. He has taught all over the UK and in the US and our groups really appreciate his enthusiasm and specialist knowledge in outdoor living skills, as well as his sense of fun and professionalism. Sean has exceptional skills in bush craft, and is a talented crafts man, making all kinds of things such as cups, spoons, etc, from leather, wood, etc.

DAVE PARKE - MTB, ORIENTEERING, BUSHCRAFT

Dave Parke (Dangerous Dave) is our Lead Mountain Biking instructor, he also leads orienteering and bushcraft activities. Dave offers a confident lead on the more challenging trails the Mendips have to offer, as well as encouraging and coaching less experienced bikers to have fun & build their skills. He has a very approachable style and really motivates groups.

WILL HAWKESBY - BUSHCRAFT, ARCHERY, BUSH TUCKER

Will (Bear Wills) brings a great sense of humour and fun to events, as well as a very professional attitude. He has a great personality, and specialises in bush tucker trials where he is extremely imaginitive and creative!

STEPHANIE - BUSHCRAFT, NATURE CONSERVATION, COMMUNITY EVENTS

Steph also joined us in 2012, and brings a wealth of knowledge of working with community groups, schools, families and children, as well as corporate groups. She is fun, professional and instills confidence in everyone.

NIGEL SINGER - FACILITATION, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, TEAM & INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT

Nigel has worked with us for over 20 years and is probably the best facilitator we have ever met. Our clients value him highly, and so do we.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

CHARITY SUPPORT

In 2012 we sponsored Yellow Submarine, an award-winning young charity providing holidays and respite for young people and children with learning difficulties, autism and down's syndrome, by providing two holidays at cost with free activities. We also support Survival International on an ongoing basis as all fees from Adrian's speaking engagements to non-profit organisations are donated to Survival. Renee has supported Amnesty International for many years, where her particular area of interest is women's rights.

GREEN POLICY

It's not too hard for us to be green - all our properties and activities are within 5 minutes drive of our office (and all our own accommodation is within walking distance of our activities), we are close to fantastic public transport links, we use local suppliers for local produce, accommodation, transport, activities, etc. If you want a virtually carbon neutral event, we're the place for it!

In our own activities and properties we meet high standards of environmental friendliness, using Ecover cleaning products, energy saving fuels including all our electricity from Ecotricity, and our HQ is heated by a fantastic Eco Angus wood gasification boiler. We operate extensive recycling practices from recycled paper in the office to composting food waste on site at our own properties. We grow fresh herbs & flowers on site for our properties. From longlife lightbulbs to rainwater recycling, we are getting better all the time at conserving energy & natural resources.

Our activities are all about helping our groups have fun, but also enabling them to learn new skills. Whether lighting a fire without matches, foraging for wild food, learning how to shoot, making pasta from scratch, baking home-made cupcakes, willow weaving, dry stone walling, or creative craft activities, we hope our groups go away from our events inspired and feeling more connected to nature, each other and themselves.
